Community Service

Beaver Valley FCU is proud of its service to the community. Below are details of some recent events in which we have participated.

National Credit Union Youth Month

Youth Month Image“Give A Hoot About Saving” was the theme for 2017 Youth Month.  Beaver Valley FCU encourages young members to embrace financial responsibility during National Credit Union Youth Month.  This year’s theme showed children the wisdom of partnering with credit unions for financial challenges and to teach the next generation of members to be wise with their savings!

Beaver Valley FCU held three ongoing activities during the month; The Savings Challenge ended with two lucky winners, Ashley and Avery , receiving  $25 iTunes gift cards donated by Enterprise Car Sales.  The “Guess How Many” tootsie roll midges winners were Aaron and Noah.  The New Account activity was won by Landon, who received a $50 deposit into his newly opened savings account.

The young members of BVFCU made 143 deposits for over $8,900 during the month AND opened 5 new accounts!!

This program helps credit unions build strong relationships with their youth and their families.  The Board of Directors and employees are looking forward to another successful event in 2018 when the theme will be "The Science of Saving".

Relay for Life

Butterfly PhotoThis was the 10th year Beaver Valley FCU was a corporate sponsor of the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.  The Relay was held June 17-18, 2017 at Brady’s Run Park.  TEAM BVFCU is comprised of employees from both the Beaver Falls and Bridgewater offices.

The atmosphere at the Relay was a storybook theme, Once Upon a Cure. The event included annual activities such as the butterfly release, the Survivor Walk, the luminary candle walk and the Chinese Auction.

Along with funds raised from ‘blue jean Fridays’ and office raffle sales – TEAM BVFCU's total was 12,699!

Photo of Mint CandyThe third Thursday in October has been set aside as International Credit Union Day.  On October 19, 2017, Beaver Valley FCU joined thousands of credit unions to help raise awareness about the great work that credit unions are doing and also to say “thank you” to their members.

As our members visited our offices, they were given a complimentary hand sanitizer.
